Product Review: Drive Medical Aluminum Rollator Walker Fold Up with Removable Back Support
Today we are going to talk about one of best rated rolling walkers, as well as best lightweight walkers…They are one and the same. Rolling walkers are also known as rollators because they have 4 wheels on the bottom.
I have been using rollators for about 10 years now and after trying out several, I have found one I really like. Let me tell you about it…It’s from Drive Medical and my son found it for me on Amazon. If memory serves me, it cost somewhere around $75 – $100 on sale.
I feel very safe and secure using it because it is both lightweight, yet incredibly sturdy.
Specs:
- This rollator has a length of 28″, a width of 24″, and a height of 33″.
- It weighs approximately 14lbs and has a weight capacity of 300lbs.
- The seat width is 14″, the seat depth is 12″, and the handles can range in height from 33″-38″
Pros:
- It’s got a padded seat that I can sit on when I get tired.
- The seat has a good size zippered storage pouch below so I can pack things in it that I may need…my kindle, medication, etc…
- I like that it’s got a removable, hinged, padded backrest can be folded up or down.
- It’s very sturdy and comfortable to sit on (indoors or outdoors).
- The handles are easy to grip and I can adjust them to my liking.
- It folds up easily and fits well in the trunk of a car.
- The brakes are strong and sturdy.
- There are plenty of accessories available so I can customize it.
- It’s very lightweight and easy to maneuver.
- The wheels are slightly oversized which gives me more control.
Cons:
- Sometimes I feel that it goes a little fast for me on a smooth surface.
- I generally use it when I am in my apartment because it works especially well on carpet.
- So many seniors in my complex have the exact same model as me that I need to customize it so we could tell each others apart.
